Acclaimed Filipino painters CJ Tanedo, Jon Jaylo and Vincent Padilla represent the Philippines in a rare three country art exhibition in Singapore entitled Beyond Borders.
Now on its third edition, the exhibit intricately weaves the distinctive styles of the Filipino artists with their Indonesian and Indian counterparts in this two-week art showcase at the Art Space, Royal Plaza on Scotts. 25 Scotts Road from October 2-12.
This thought provoking exhibition organized by Art Sentral Asia explores the playful and haunting surrealism artworks from award-winning Filipino artists CJ Tanedo, Jon Jaylo and Vincent Padilla; and the expressionist and impressionist canvases of Indonesia’s top visual artists Erica Hestu Wahyuni and John Van Der Sterren, and India’s talented duo of Neha Majithia and Ratnadeep Gopal.

Tañedo’s works are inspired from the artist’s readings of Scripture and makes commentary on the proliferation of wrong doctrine and bad faith. The Manila-based artist has won numerous awards including the 2000 Merit Award for Outstanding Artistic Expression at the NOKIA Art Awards Seoul, Korea and the Juror’s Choice , NOKIA Art Awards Philippines . He was also a top awardee at the Shell Art Competition, and a consistent finalist of the prestigious Philip Morris Group of Companies.
