In 2005, Senator Mar Roxas authored this act to stop the local pharma companies from controlling the price of medicines here in the Philippines.
This act will authorize the import of medicines from foreign drug suppliers which is 30-50% more cheaper compare to the prices of medicines here in the Philippines.
