Controlled Cigarette Regulation Bill
Posted by batchblogs on 6/15/09 • Categorized as International NewsUS Food and Drug Administration passed the Tobacco Regulation Bill.
The new bill provides a wide-range of tobacco product regulations such as the power to dictate product ingredients, requires tobacco companies to reduce or eliminate confusing product labels on cigarette package like “mild” or “light”.
If the new bill turns-out to be a law, the FDA will regulate the tobacco business which avoids the law for over twenty years. The new law disallow tobacco advertising within 1,000 ft. in playgrounds or schools. 50 percent of cigarette packs must have a warning labels (front and back).
According to US Pres. Barrack Obama who also struggled in nicotine addiction: “Truly defines change in Washington.” The signing of this bill to become a law will be expected next week.
