The ‘Beast of Kandahar’ is flown by the 30th Reconnaissance Squadron out of Tonopah Test Range in Nevada – under the Air Combat Command’s 432nd Wing at Creech Air Base.

Lockheed Martin developed the unmanned aircraft also known as ‘RQ-170’ which is part of their Advanced Development Programs and this is also in line with the request of Defense Secretary Robert Gates to expand the fleet of unmanned aircraft for more intelligence and surveillance resources.
